Fundraising System - Solution

Background

In order to prepare its members for college opportunities, every youth organization needs money to function, but few have advanced fund raising beyond the sale of sodas and snacks. So membership fees rise, until some of our most talented players ... often those whose need is greatest ... can no longer afford to participate.

Drawing upon the experience gained as an IBM employee on loan to assist charities in fund raising, SA's Publisher, Bob Collins, designed a simple but effective system incorporating the same basic principles successfully used by most major fund raising organizations today.

How it works

  1. Most youth organizations already have nonprofit IRS classification, if not, your organization obtains IRS classification as a nonprofit corporation, under section 501(c)(3), enabling it to issue tax deductible receipts to donors.
  2. SA magazine helps you set up a database of prospective donors.
  3. Your volunteers solicit pledges from donors who agree to make a small tax-deductible donation to you when invoiced each year. Donors may be individuals, small businesses or corporations.
  4. SA magazine helps you select and install software to invoice donors and manage your program. Most youth organization have at least one member whose computer system is capable of issuing invoices and tracking accounts receivable. If not, there are many Invoicing programs costing less than $50.
  5. In your newsletter and/or web site your organization informs members of this important fund raising program and introduces them to Student Athlete publications by reprinting our articles and linking to our on-line services.

The fund raising system is entirely free to operate. It invoices donors by Email and, unlike the sale of items for fund raising, it has a 100% net profit on every donation, even the smallest donations are profitable.

Every hour spent soliciting donations is FAR MORE productive than washing cars or begging at traffic lights ... every hour spent here is an investment in your organization's future cash flow!

And, even after the volunteers who solicited the pledges for donations have moved on, the invoices go out and the donations roll in ... like an annuity.

We have helped dozens of clubs and high schools implement this system and are always happy to discuss its benefits with your treasurer and administrator. Call Bob Collins at (561) 498-1546.
